Why did you decide to join the Widoo collaborative purchasing group?
At ACI SA, like many SMEs, we’ve noticed that certain so-called “non-strategic” purchases – such as office supplies, support services, maintenance, etc. – represent a recurring cost with little differentiation, but still require rigorous management. It was against this backdrop that we saw Widoo as a strategic opportunity, for a number of reasons.
First of all, Widoo enables us to pool our purchasing needs with other companies and access negotiated conditions which, as a medium-sized company, would be difficult to obtain on our own. Secondly, the platform not only saves time in researching and selecting suppliers andtenders, but also provides dedicated support(network management, contract monitoring), freeing up internal resources to focus on our strategic purchasing.
Last but not least, the collaborative spirit, the development of a local network ofLuxembourg companies and access to an easy-to-use digital platform also motivated us to join. The idea that “unity is strength” in purchasing appealed to us.
What benefits do you think you will find?
Firstly, the volume effect of the buying group enables more competitive rates to be obtained on non-strategic purchasing categories, which translates directly into lower operating costs. On the Widoo website, it is stated that members can obtain average discounts of between 15% and 35%.
Secondly, we benefit from a more efficient and structured purchasing process: via the digital platform platform andWidoo’s support, our supplier prospecting cycle is streamlined, saving us time and reducing the risk of finding the wrong supplier.
What’s more,belonging to a network of independent Luxembourg companies offers us an opportunity for networking,exchanging best practices and synergies with other members, which enriches our local positioning, boosts our visibility and may open up new avenues of collaboration.
Lastly, the pooling of certain purchases also frees up internal resources to focus on our strategic purchases, which are more differentiating for our business.
